Job Description
The Marketing & Social Media Intern will help develop the brand identity, establish and grow a social media presence, and develop a marketing strategy to promote the company and our upcoming products and events. This is a perfect position for a current leader / budding marketer who has social media and marketing skills and who is interested in getting exposure and experience in the fields of Travel and Education, working in a startup environment, and able to take on big challenges. Successful candidates will be self starters, comfortable with remote work and indirect supervision, and enjoy challenges.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a company marketing strategy, including:
- Creating content calendar
- Identifying the best marketing channels to reach leaders
- Creating systems for managing social media, marketing, and communication
- Develop a brand framework
- Manage Facebook, Instagram, and other social media accounts
- Create and distribute marketing content
- Other possible projects may include:
- Graphic design
- Web design
- Develop email and newsletter copy
Required Qualifications
Years of Experience
- 0-2 years of experience working in communications or marketing
- 0-3 years of experience in the leader field (travel, international education, experiential education)
Education
- Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field
- OR a combination of education and work experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A proactive, disciplined work ethic and comfort working in a remote team environment
- Strong critical thinking and analysis
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superb organizational skills
- A roll-up-your-sleeves, get-it-done attitude
- Experience working in a high pressure, high demand, and fast-paced growth environment
- Experience with developing or delivering content strategy
- Strong attention to detail in grammar, spelling, and copy-editing
- Comfortable giving and receiving constructive edits and feedback
